We visited the Maldives for the first time and I have to say we had very high expectations, which were met - and more!
The flights and seaplane transfer to Ifuru Island were excellent and well organised. When we arrived, it was just as we had imagined - stunning. Natural beauty, white sandy beaches and clear turquoise sea at its absolute best.
The accommodation was amazing - surrounded by trees and natural habitat, large immaculate rooms just a few metres from the beach.
The pool and social area is where many lazy days were spent relaxing, soaking up the spectacular scenery and views, with premium drinks and cocktails throughout the stay.
Our buddy was there for everything we needed on arrival, and that warm welcome continued throughout our eight nights - with daily communication to make sure all our needs were met.
With plenty of trips to choose from, we opted for a full day out on the water - snorkelling and exploring the reefs. Great fun, thoroughly recommended, and the undoubted highlight was a swim alongside a passing turtle. One of those moments you don't forget in a hurry.
We had a truly amazing week. Everything we had dreamed of, and memories for life of such a beautiful place.
