It’s always fantastic to see a mother-daughter duo heading off on a unique adventure, and Cheryl and her daughter Emma, who’s 18, wanted to get to the Formula One Grand Prix in Monza, Italy.

Jenny has organised many fantastic holidays for my family over the last five years, so when an F1 holiday popped up on her Facebook page, it was hard to resist! I’d been to an F1 race before - but that was over 25 years ago. In recent years, my daughter Emma, who’s 18, has become a big fan, and her excitement rekindled my own love for the sport. We’d talked for ages about going to a race together, but heading to one abroad was going to need a lot of planning.
Booking with Jenny meant I just had to choose which race to attend, and she took care of everything else. The hardest decision we had to make was choosing our grandstand seats!
Right from the start, we felt reassured and in good hands. The team supporting us on the ground reached out early on, sharing contact numbers and inviting us to a Teams meeting the week before we left. The day before, I even received a message from our driver with photos of the meeting point and his contact info - such a great touch!
Our flights and transfer to the hotel went smoothly, and we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel’s standard and the room’s comfort. Since we’d travelled from Denmark, we needed to pick up our tickets in person, but with just a quick message, the team delivered them right to our room.
Our hotel was about a 20-minute taxi ride from central Milan, so we spent our first day exploring the city. The next three days were all about the race! It was incredible to be there for the entire event, enjoying the Fanzone and even spotting some of the drivers.
Our seats were fantastic - we had a direct view into the Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari garages, which meant plenty of opportunities to spot some very important people!
Getting a wave from Charles Leclerc was a real highlight, and being in the middle of the Ferrari fans was an experience in itself. We were even underneath the enormous Ferrari flag that was passed up the grandstand more than once!
And the view of the podium? Perfect! Watching the tifosi storm the track to celebrate was fantastic.
Having reliable transfers between our hotel and the track each day made a huge difference. Phil, the team member on our bus, was amazing - informative, funny and completely on top of things. He made sure everyone got the info they needed and did a head count every time to make sure no one was left behind. Knowing we could leave the logistics to him meant we could just focus on enjoying the race.
Trips like this have so many moving parts, and booking through Jenny meant we didn’t have to worry about any of them. She answered every question quickly and made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. We had an amazing time and have no idea how we’re going to top it!
